Arizona Cardinals

They are getting Chandler Jones back and just signed JJ Watt. This could be one of the best pass-rushing fronts in football. What they lack is middle linebacker help, in this up-and-coming defense. They just lost Patrick Peterson on the outside, so going defense back-to-back is a real possibility with a corner in the first and linebacker in the second round. The Cardinals are a mix of youth and aging veterans, getting the next wave of players should be paramount.

The Cardinals defense got torched a lot last year, and they seem hell-bent on fixing it this year.

Cox would be the best inside linebacker on the roster the moment he steps on the field. Him and Isiah Simmons could make for one of the more interesting defenses. As either player can play or move around in multiple formations. Both have speed and linebacker ability, though Simmons is not a true linebacker. Whereas Cox is, but he could get moved to the outside in pass-rush situations for this defense where his natural ability can shine.

This would be an amazing value and a great fit.

Arizona seems to be at the forefront of the tweener position with their pick of Haasan Riddick then Isiah Simmons, and now another undersized but dynamic linebacker. The Cardinals are in an interesting division where all three teams have versatile offenses. All three of LA, Seattle, and San Francisco can run and throw the ball at any time, having a defense that can match up with them at any time will be a key to their success moving forward. Not to mention the fewer points they allow, the less the underside Kyler Murray will be asked to do keeping him out of harm’s way.
