Where will Jamie Newman land?

Jamie Newman played his 2019 season at Wake Forrest and did quite well, then transferred to Georgia. Where he sat out the 2020 season due to COVID-19, which could be affecting his draft stock. I don`t put much value in teams saying they are taking guys off their board for it, but in the later rounds recency bias can play a part. So he could easily slip past where his talent suggests he should be.

In 2019 at Wake Forrest he won seven games throwing for 2,868 yards with 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He added another 574 rushing yards on the ground and six touchdowns. With three games over 300-yards passing including his first week of the season a 401-yard and four total touchdown performances versus Utah State.

So there is definitely some talent there and he showed flashes of it.

He just did not show enough of it after four years in college Newman only played in 19 games. So the question remains which kind of quarterback are you getting. Are you getting the 401-yard showing or is it the 41-yards and two interceptions versus Clemson Newman? Had he have played in 2020, this could be a much different conversation.

Just like Ehlinger, he is a weapon with his feet as much as he can be with his arm. The question of what he really is and how will he project down the line is really hard to answer, with just one year of playtime and got rocked versus good competition.
