Strengths

Spiller is an intelligent runner who excels at reading his blocks, uses his vision to recognize when the running lane is filled, and shows the ability to change course. When hitting the hole, he will scrape the backs of his interior blockers to maximize his space.

He possesses impressive fluidity in his lower half to allow him to change direction quickly, hit cut back lanes, and evade defenders when they get into the backfield, while he also has the quickness to swiftly switch between working laterally and getting upfield.

Spiller attacks running lanes with a burst that enables him to get to the second level and is fast enough to get around the edge consistently.

Not able to rely on speed to rack up huge gains, Spiller uses his physicality to gain extra yards. He embraces contact and has the balance to fall off tackles and gain additional yardage.

Spiller proved himself an asset in the passing game for the Aggies. As a receiver, he plucks the ball out of the air and can adjust to inaccurate passes. In pass protection, he shows great awareness in picking up blitzes and secondary assignments, succeeding in stopping pass rushers dead when he squares them up.
