Weaknesses

Spiller has almost every tool to be considered a potential three-down back at the next level, but his disappointing top-end speed figures to be a significant knock against him unless he displays the ability to regularly rip off massive chunks of yardage in his junior season.

Though Spiller has the short-area burst to take him through to the second level and around the edge, an extra gear that would help him become a home-run hitter evidently lacking from his otherwise wide array of physical gifts.

Indeed, Spiller’s 2019 and 2020 tape was that of a high-floor prospect and not that of a player with room to grow into a dynamic player at the next level.

Unless he proves otherwise in 2021, Spiller will head to the NFL as a player with a limited ceiling and one who still has some minor issues to iron out.

Spiller can occasionally be indecisive when hitting the hole, as he will sometimes wait too long to pick his running lane, though he made strides in this regard in 2020.

He will also need to improve his consistency in getting square as a pass protector, but teams interested in Spiller should have little concern about putting him out there to block.
