. Davis Mills. 5. player. 10. .

Davis Mills took a step back this year in watching him, and the statistics back it up: 10 interceptions as a rookie to 15 this year, 66.8 completion % down to 61%, TD% dropped from 4.1% to 3.5%. Though I would like to mention I thought the Texans played well down the stretch, in a season that would’ve been easy for them to check out of after they were eliminated from playoff contention.

Mills gets some “passes” when it comes to mistakes as a 3rd rounder that has been thrust into a starting position at QB on a team devoid of talent, but he still has a long way to go, likely on another team. 2 seasons in, he’s on a similar career arc to Drew Lock in my opinion, would do him good to be able to learn on the bench for a couple of seasons.

The reason I have Mills over Wilson comes down to his ability to lead an offense, on and off the field, complete passes, and be able to take advantage of “freebies” given by the defense. Mills winds up in 5th place, thanks in a small part to a bad postgame interview by Zach Wilson which ultimately led to his being benched.
