2023 NFL Draft: Handing out grades for the AFC South – Indianapolis Colts

Here is the Colts’ haul from the 2023 NFL Draft:

Round 1, Pick 4 – Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
Round 2, Pick 44 – Julius Brents, CB, Kansas State
Round 3, Pick 79 – Josh Downs, WR, North Carolina
Round 4, Pick 106 – Blake Freeland, OT, BYU
Round 4, Pick 110 – Adetomiwa Adebawore, DT, Northwestern
Round 5, Pick 138 – Darius Rush, CB, South Carolina
Round 5, Pick 158 – Daniel Scott, S, California
Round 5, Pick 162 – Will Mallory, TE, Miami (FL)
Round 5, Pick 176 – Evan Hull, RB, Northwestern
Round 7, Pick 211 – Titus Leo, LB, Wagner
Round 7, Pick 221 – Jaylon Jones, CB, Texas A&M
Round 7, Pick 236 – Jake Witt, OT, Northern Michigan

I’ve been very critical of Colts’ General Manager Chris Ballard, but he hit this draft class out of the park.  The Colts made a whopping 12 selections and about half of them have true starter potential.  Anthony Richardson was the correct move at pick #4.

Julius Brents in rangy and athletic.  Ade Adebawore was constantly mocked within the first two rounds and both Blake Freeland and Jake Witt are encouraging prospects along the offensive line.

This could be a franchise altering draft for the Colts who may finally have a long-term solution at QB and appeared to have gotten a ton of roster talent with their 12 picks.
