Pick No. 8: Landon Collins (Alabama)

With the eighth pick in the NFL, the Washington Redskins select strong safety Landon Collins from the Alabama Crimson The Redskins’ have a franchise quarterback until further notice and the rest of the offense looks good too. The defense is also pretty good but they can use a star and strong safety Landon Collins is that and the best player on the board.

He is a playmaker that can come right in and make the Redskins defense much better with his all-around skill-set. He can get in the box and player the run, cover and lay a big hit on a receiver that catches a ball in his area. He’s the kind of strong safety that can force a fumble or grab and interception as turnovers would really help the Redskins.
