Vision

The most important thing for a running back to have is the vision to see where holes are or where they’re going to be. And Gordon has shown that he has the vision to see up and down the whole line of scrimmage so he can hit the cutback lanes. He can also see small holes when the big ones aren’t there so he doesn’t stay stuck in neutral waiting for the big one.

Seeing the small hole can get a running back a big play because defensive players see the big hole and run toward it. When you pop through that small hole, the defense doesn’t see you and often doesn’t know where you are until it’s too late. I would definitely put Gordon’s vision up there with Faulk, Tomlinson and Marcus Allen.
