The Book on Winston

On the field, Winston fits the mold the scouting world is looking for in an NFL quarterback. They love his size at 6’4″, 240 pounds, his rocket arm, sneaky athleticism vision, and pocket presence. They also like his accuracy, touch, leadership, competitive fire and ability to deliver in the clutch.

Those are great qualities for a quarterback to have but the way he uses them is what impresses scouts the most. They love the fact that he comes from a pro system and that he has had to use that accuracy to throw into tight windows. They also like the way he anticipates his throws, throwing to a spot before his receiver makes his break to run right into the ball for a completion.

What they don’t love is the knuckle-headed things he has done off the field, leading him to trouble. Back to on the field, they doesn’t like his tendency to force things down the field when under pressure. They also don’t like what they call an elongated delivery, saying he needs to speed his release up.
