Max Tuerk, OL, USC

USC’s Max Tuerk saw his final season end early due to an injury, but he remains one of the top prospects in the draft. This is an explosive offensive lineman who is capable of making key blocks all over the field. His movement skills are the key to his success and what separates him from the other offensive line prospects.

Tuerk’s explosiveness comes from his initial step after the snap. He gets on the defender in a hurry which allows him to gain proper hand placement and establish leverage. This initial burst also plays a major role in Tuerk’s ability to generate a push off the line of scrimmage.

As far as offensive linemen are concerned, Tuerk lacks ideal bulk and is a bit linear in his build. He isn’t someone you’d look at and expect to win any individual matchups against bigger defensive tackles. However, Tuerk generates such a strong jolt off the snap that he easily overcomes his weight disadvantage.

Don’t be surprised if we hear Tuerk’s name called at the end of the 1st round. A team like the Seattle Seahawks would really benefit from his presence. Tuerk provides added value because of his versatility and experience at multiple positions across the offensive line.
