35.
With the HC-QB combination of Mike Mularky and Marcus Mariota, the Tennessee Titans haven’t given me much to believe in. Mularky did everything he could to protect Mariota, allowing him to have a decent statistical rookie season, but a quarterback whisperer, he is not.

Living off of bubble screens and slants won’t win a lot of games in the NFL, which is why the Titans were 3-13 in 2015. Your QB has to be able to throw the ball down the field and win on third down, the money down, to win games in the NFL.

But Mariota showed not a hint of neither as he was dead last in downfield accuracy percentage and the Titans were No. 29 in the NFL on third down. Throwing the ball down the field is hard when you don’t function well in the pocket and Mariota has no pocket awareness.

Plus he’s facing a much tougher schedule this year, playing against the pass rushers AFC West and the NFC North. Sorry, Marcus Mariota still has a long way to go and a schedule the won’t allow that big jump to Year 2. He will eventually be that guy but it won’t be in 2016.
. (2-14). Previous: 31st.
