Josh Allen, Quarterback

It’s no secret that the Buffalo Bills wanted to grab a high-upside quarterback early in the 2018 NFL Draft. They worked tirelessly to add draft capital in order to trade up and land the services of Josh Allen.

This pick wasn’t without question marks as Allen was obviously the most raw of the top-rated quarterback prospects.

However, Buffalo saw what a lot of other scouts saw which was a quarterback with a huge arm and limitless potential. Allen comes with a rare combination of size, athleticism and arm strength. He’s the perfect piece of clay to mold into a star quarterback.

The Bills appear to be playing it safe with their young signal caller. They went out and signed veteran A.J. McCarron and have 2nd-year player Nate Peterman already in the fold. Allen is really going to need to standout during training camp to grab the starting job.

McCarron and Peterman likely understand their position. They are fighting to open the season as the stater and audition for other teams. Allen is the future in Buffalo it’s only a matter of time before he takes over.

The argument for being cautious centers on not ruining the young quarterback’s confidence.
