Strength 1: Hand Usage

Bosa offers an array of pass rush moves to devastate quarterbacks and apply pressure, and gives active thought to his pass rush plan on passing downs. He gains quick inside hand placement on blockers on run plays and extends to control the blocker and read and react to the play. Footwork is also key to his pass rush, he shows off a quick inside feint to get the OT to punch so he can swat his hands, throwing him off balance so Bosa can quickly get outside of him and around the edge. A seemingly simple move can be more complex than what meets the eye and Bosa is very good at stringing moves together and improvising his pass rush.

Strength 2: Get-Off and Play Strength

Not many prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft have the combination of size, quickness and strength that Nick Bosa has shown off. He has good snap anticipation to get a good rush up-field on passing downs, which will give offensive tackles problems if he sets them up correctly with a speed rush to inside counter. He shows off a lethal bull-rush that will take opposing tackles onto their backs with too much weight on their heels. In the run game, Bosa uses his play strength to keep blockers off of him, along with heavy hands to shock and shed blockers at will.

Strength 3: Motor

Nick Bosa has a relentless motor chasing down runs from the backside and arrives with a vengeance at the ball-carrier, with no aversion to contact. He rarely gives up on his pass rush and will go to another move if his primary doesn’t work, and has his share of effort sacks. This is a trait that is underrated for many pass rushers but Bosa definitely exhibits it.
