Oklahoma vs. TCU: Five 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch
Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
Right now, the linebacker class for the 2020 draft doesn’t look a deep one. There are a couple of elite talents at the top in Isaiah Simmons of Clemson and Alabama’s Dylan Moses, and Oklahoma’s Kenneth Murray is the guy behind those two in terms of potential.
Murray is going to be highly sought after should he declare for the draft this year. He has the speed and range to be able to make plays in the middle of the field and on both sidelines. His ability to close often makes him look more like a defensive back. Murray has sound instincts as well, and he’s excellent at diagnosing screens and stopping potential big plays in their tracks.
His game against Texas was one he wants to make sure NFL teams see. Murray demonstrated all of his plus traits and proved himself as the elite linebacker in space that pro teams are looking for. That was also Oklahoma’s best game on defense. As Murray goes, that defense goes.
A repeat of that display against TCU would be massive for Murray, who will need to be at his best to slow down an offense swimming with playmakers.
