Las Vegas Bowl: December 21, 7:30 PM Eastern Time

Prospect Matchup: Curtis Weaver (Boise State defensive end) vs Trey Adams (Washington offensive tackle)

It wasn’t long ago that Trey Adams was viewed as a sure fire future first round selection, with left tackle upside. Unfortunately for Adams, injuries have cost him the better part of the last two seasons for the Huskies, most recently with chronic back ailments.

More from With the First Pick

When healthy, and he is now, Trey Adams is a superb blend of size and athleticism at 6’8” and 306 pounds. He has adequate lateral mobility to counteract rushers of all shapes and sizes.

A recent addition to the 2020 Reese’s Senior Bowl, Adams is going to have the opportunity to work against some of the most talented edge prospects in the entire class at the event. With players like Alton Robinson (Syracuse), Bradlee Annae (Utah), Anfernee Jennings (Alabama), Darrell Taylor (Tennessee), Jabari Zuniga (Florida) and Jonathan Greenard (Florida) already committed, Adams will have every opportunity to reassert his once promising draft stock.

If you have the chance to tune into the Las Vegas Bowl on December 21st, you have the opportunity to see Adams get an early shot at one of the top potential underclassmen for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Boise State redshirt junior defensive end Curtis Weaver already sits atop the Boise State and Mountain West all time sack list with 34 in just three seasons. Weaver is in the midst of his most dominant campaign to date, sitting with 19.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks.

The 6’3” 265 pound edge rusher has some of the most outstanding transitional quickness in the class. He is able to maintain his speed while running the corner, putting offensive tackles in very inopportune positions.

His quickness also allows him to hit inside counters regularly. This presents a huge challenge for offensive tackles to stay discipline in their kick slide, not allowing for either shoulder to become a weak point.

For Huskies quarterback Jacob Eason to have a big day against a stingy Boise State defense, Adams will need to do his best to neutralize the talented Weaver. Get your popcorn ready. It is going to be a show.
