Could potential top 2021 NFL Draft safety Hamsah Nasirildeen make his debut?
The Florida State Seminoles had multiple Seniors return to their program this past Spring with the draft on their horizons. Names like defensive tackle Marvin Wilson and wide receiver Tamorrion Terry opted to return to school and compete under new head coach Mike Norvell and see a rise in their stock before the 2021 NFL Draft. Another one of those Seniors was safety Hamsah Nasirildeen, who ended last season with a torn ACL.
After missing the first week of the season still recovering from his knee injury, it appears this may be the week that one of the top safeties in the 2021 NFL Draft class makes his debut. An astute observation by 247’s Brendan Sonnone, Nasirldeen is back on the Florida State depth chart this week, a sign he may be ready to suit up for the Seminoles.
Where Hamsah Nasirildeen fits in the 2021 NFL Draft rankings
As the 2021 NFL Draft is still a ways away, this safety class features a large amount of names that are often seen in a variety of order rank wise. He is Pro Football Focus’ fourth overall safety in the class, behind only Syracuse’s Andre Cisco, TCU’s Ar’Darius Washington, and Oregon’s Jevon Holland.

He is Matt Valdovinos of Pro Football Network’s third overall safety in this class. In regards to Nasirildeen, Valdovinos writes:
"He may be the most versatile player in not just the safety class, but the entire 2021 NFL Draft class. Florida State has lined him up at single-high safety, in the box, as a linebacker, and in the slot on numerous occasions. This is due to his great athletic abilities and elite size. Listed at 6’4″ and 212 pounds, Hamsah Nasirildeen is in the mold of an Isaiah Simmons with his ability to play all over the field."
Listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, not only does Nasirildeen have plus size, but he does not lack the agility or ability to play in coverage over the top as well. As the NFL gets more pass-heavy (and is bound to resort back to running between the tackles as defenses adjust), having a safety with the massive size and thumping ability of Nasirildeen will be an asset at the next level.
Coming off of a season where Nasirildeen a massive 61 solo tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions, three passes defended, and three forced fumbles, he will look to stuff the statsheet once again in 2020. Be on the lookout for one of the nation’s best safeties as he may make his season debut for the Seminoles this weekend.
