5-foot-11. James Cook. player. 814. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 190 pounds. RB

Georgia has had an incredible run of successful running backs come through the program. Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and DeAndre Swift have all carved out major roles in the NFL after highly successful college careers. James Cook could be the next in line of great Bulldog running backs.

Cook likely won’t be the feature back for the Bulldogs. That honor will likely go to the insanely talented youngster Zamir White. That being said, the backup always gets plenty of work in the run-oriented offense that Kirby Smart likes. Cook isn’t the fastest, biggest, or most powerful back to come through Georgia. But he is solid in those areas while also having very good balance on contact. He also has shown solid hands as a receiver out of the backfield in his limited touches so far in his career.

There’s a lot of programs that the backup running back would not get many looks from NFL scouts. Georgia is not one of those programs. James Cook will have to make the most of his limited opportunities, but with a good season, he can quickly get on the radar of NFL teams. He has some obvious NFL traits to work with.
