Offseason rewind

Unlike years’ past, the Seahawks were relatively active in this year’s free agency period. Not only in keeping a few of their key free agents, but also in making plays to bring in top talents available. The biggest focus to that end came along the line, with Seattle making major moves on both sides of the line.

Offensive line has been a major thorn in the Seahawks side for basically the entirety of Wilson’s tenure with the team. Tensions may have boiled over this offseason, with Wilson going on record saying his offensive line needed to be better — while also acknowledging he himself could help them out, as well. It seems the Seattle front office listened to Wilson, and has acknowledged the line needs an upgrade.

That upgrade, at least in the free agency period, comes not only with Seattle making sure to re-sign their own in Ethan Pocic and Cedric Ogbuehi, but in bringing in Gabe Jackson from the Raiders in a trade. Jackson comes in and will be immediately slotted in as a starter at right guard, helping to solidify the inside of the Seahawks offensive line. That said, the line still has its holes, and Seattle could look to the 2021 NFL Draft to upgrade, particularly at tackle.
