Why the Baltimore Ravens may trade up in the 2022 NFL Draft

The Ravens have holes to fill, and there are plenty of options for an instant starter just not at their current slot sitting 14th overall for what they want.

I would look for the Ravens to make calls to Washington, Jets, and Atlanta. As they search for IDL, CB, and OL help. They can fill some needs in FA if they are looking at WR help or depth or a starter at linebacker.

But, for their top-3 needs, they could miss out on the best player or a top-2 player if they stay at 14. With the Jets having two first-round picks, and Washington needing more picks in general I think those would be most likely teams they could target.

In doing so they could come away with a player like Nakobe Dean, Derek Stingly Jr, Charles Cross, or Jordan Davis, who has a steller scouting report.

They will need to get ahead of Minnesota and Cleveland if they are targeting specific OL or IDL as they may get sniped right before they pick at the 14th slot. Jets we know are targeting defensive back as well, so a move to Atlanta would make sure they get the pick of the litter for a corner.

The question will remain just how much are the Ravens willing to give up to get their true target in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Best option?

Trade up to 10th with the Jets it will cost less than Atlanta, and they could still get Nkobe Dean, Stingley Jr, or Davis. The Jets also want to trade down and out of that slot to pick up more capital, or this could be a way to maybe push off a player they don’t need with the 14th pick.

As the Jets need, well just about everything.
