2023 NFL Mock Draft: Saints find future QB in 7-round mock draft

One of the positions the New Orleans Saints are going to have to look at closely this offseason is quarterback. Last year’s starter Andy Dalton is set to be a free agent and they could bring him back for another season but if they don’t they do have Jameis Winston under contract for one more year.

However, neither is really a long-term solution and that is why this pick of Hendon Hooker makes perfect sense to start this 2023 NFL mock draft. Hooker was having an excellent season for Tennessee with 3,135 passing yards, 27 passing touchdowns, two interceptions with 430 rushing yards, and five additional rushing touchdowns.

Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a torn ACL and this is why he likely falls to the second round as he has the talent to be a first round quarterback. The Saints could elect to bring back Dalton for one year and allow Hendon Hooker time to recover and look for him to be the starter in 2024.
