It’s obviously early in the process but the 2016 NFL Draft appears to have several top-end quarterback prospects. I currently have four players rated as potential first-round picks with a few in the running to be the first player taken.

The 2015 draft seen Jameis Winston and Marcus Maroita coming off the board with the first two picks with the next quarterback not coming off the board until third round (Garrett Grayson).
Looking ahead, there are several teams who could be looking to grab a quarterback in the first round of the 2016 draft. The quarterback situations in Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Arizona, St. Louis, Buffalo, New York Jets, Cleveland, Houston and Denver all have long-term question marks.
These teams will be keeping a close eye on the quarterbacks eligible to enter the 2016 NFL Draft. Below is my current 2016 NFL Draft Quarterback Rankings:
- Jared Goff, Cal– Goff is in the mix for the top pick in the draft and is the cleanest of the quarterback prospects at this point in the process. Click Here for a more in depth look at Goff.
- Connor Cook, Michigan State– Cook has taken major steps forward in each of his seasons at Michigan State and has the natural ability to be a top-5 pick. Click Here for a more in depth look at Cook.
- Cardale Jones, Ohio State– Jones features a rare combination of size, athleticism and arm talent that helps evaluators overlook his rawness. Click Here for a more in depth look at Jones.
- Christian Hackenberg, Penn State– Hackenberg could easily move to the top of this list but needs to show he can handle pressure and make smart decisions. Click Here for a more in depth look at Hackenberg.
- Carson Wentz, North Dakota State– Wentz has the natural ability to develop into a good NFL starter but he’ll need time to learn the position. Click Here for a more in depth look at Wentz.
- Patrick Towles, Kentucky– Towles is extremely talented but also very raw which puts his draft stock in flux. However, it’s not out of the question he makes a major move up draft boards. Click Here for a more in depth look at Towles.
- Jacoby Brissett, NC State– Brissett is a talented athlete who relies too much on his legs. He needs to show he can move the chains with his arm to improve his draft position. Click Here for a more in depth look at Brissett.
- Cody Kessler, USC– Kessler is low-ceiling prospect who projects as spot starter or very good backup quarterback. Click Here for a more in depth look at Kessler.
- Gunner Kiel, Cincinnati– Kiel needs to show improve arm strength in order to climb in the rankings. Click Here for a more in depth look at Kiel.
