10. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU

Joe Burrow gets all of the press, and deservedly so, but LSU has another weapon who made quite a name for himself in 2019. Clyde Edwards-Helaire saved his best performances for the biggest moments. He burst onto the scene against Florida with 134 yards and 2 touchdowns. Against a terrific Auburn defense he totaled 180+ yards and a score. It was versus Alabama, though, that he became an LSU legend. In the biggest game of the year, he racked up 180 yards and 4 touchdowns, including the dagger late in the fourth quarter where he just refused to go down.

More from With the First Pick

Above is the game-icing run against Alabama. He powers through more than one defender on his way to the endzone. He runs with power and determination, but does show patience in finding run lanes. His hands are good, and he can play on all three downs at the next level. Speed is not his strength, but he isn’t slow either.

Edwards-Helaire wasn’t a household name coming into 2019, but he should be rising up boards quickly. If LSU wins the National Championship, Burrow will be the one who leads them there, but their star running back will be of the utmost importance. He should go no later than round three in the draft.
